Iva E. Brennecke, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson. She was 94.
She was born June 5, 1904, at Daisy, daughter of Christian and Margaret Hahs Friese. She married Leon W. Brennecke on April 3, 1942. He died Dec. 23, 1988.
She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau where she was a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service and a member of the Weslyan Service Guild.
She was a former member of Sargent's Chapel near Daisy.
She had worked for the Florsheim Shoe Co. for 24 years and also worked for the Cape Girardeau School District as a cook from 1953 until she retired in 1971.
She is survived by four nieces, Dodie Eisenhauer of Daisy, Loretta Lowes of Jackson, Ethel Daume of Oak Ridge and Marge Green of Park City, Ky.; and two nephews, Perry Sebaugh of Park City and R.G. Crites of Pontiac, Mich.
She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Gallamore officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
