Iva Dell Cook, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born Nov. 16, 1929, at Scopus, Mo., daughter of Ralph Ervin and Rada Ellen Tomason Upchurch. She and Robert L. Cook were married Jan. 14, 1948, at Gravel Hill, Mo. He died July 9, 1992.
Cook had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1954. She was a member of First Baptist Church, lifetime member of Women's Missionary Union, Christian Women's Fellowship, choir, and had taught Sunday School. She was a volunteer at Heartland Care Rehab Center 20 years.
Survivors include two sons, Russell Cook of Martin, Tenn., Jon Cook of Lafayette. Colo.; a daughter, Margaret Blakemore of Fruitland, Mo.; three brothers, Milford and Medford Upchurch of Marble Hill, Mo., Edwin Upchurch of Pacific, Mo.; two sisters, Marjorie Grindstaff of Macomb, Ill., Kathleen Yount of Kirkwood, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel. The Rev. Ken Moxey will officiate. Burial will be in Leslie Cemetery in Bollinger County.
