Isabel Kirn

Isabel A. Kirn, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at her home.

She was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Charleston, Missouri, to Bernard William and Mary Christine Brunderman Stricker. Isabel married Henry Kirn on July 11, 1953. He died May 1, 2003.

She graduated from Charleston High School and went on to earn her nursing degree.

She served as a registered nurse at Sikeston, Missouri, and Cairo, Illinois, hospitals and retired from Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Isabel was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by a son, Michael C. (Vicki) Kirn of Jackson; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; daughter, Susan M. Ely; three brothers; and five sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with parish prayers at 7 p.m., followed by a rosary by the Knights of Columbus.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
