MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Irma Catherine Stause, 78, of Leopold, Mo., died Jan. 7, 2011, at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill. Born Nov. 27, 1932, at Leopold, she was the daughter of Joseph and Catherine "Katie" Landewee Steinnerd. She married Clarence H. "Peck" Stause on April 29, 1952, at St. John Church in Leopold. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2008.
For more than 20 years she worked for Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau. She was a lifelong member of St. John Church at Leopold and the St. Ann's Sodality. For several decades she played guitar in a family country-western band.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Jansen and Susan Butrum, both of Leopold; four sons, Kenny and Eddie Stause of Leo-pold, Mark Stause of Glennon, and Jeff Stause of Benton, Ky.; three sisters, Mary (Luke) Jansen and Geraldine Elfrink, both of Leopold, and Eloise Nenninger of St. Genevieve, Mo.; a brother, Melvin Steinnerd of Jackson; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Arleen Seiler; a son, Randy Stause; and two grandchildren predeceased her.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Parish prayers will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church at Leopold with the Rev. William Hennecke officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
