Irma Kirn Nicholas, 84, of 542 South Spring, died Thursday Aug. 15, 1991 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born in Cape Girardeau Sept. 3, 1906, the daughter of Bernhard A. and Theresa Werth Kirn.
She married Clyde W. Nicholas in Cape Girardeau April 6, 1953. He died April 24, 1967.
Nicholas worked at the Wielpuetz Bakery and in the kitchen of St. Vincent's College, both in Cape Girardeau, for a number of years. As well, she worked for 26 years at the former Montgomery Ward in Cape Girardeau, from which she retired in 1971.
Nicholas was a member of the St. Mary Cathedral Church in Cape Girardeau and the St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary. She was also an avid embroiderer.
Surviving are a brother, Emmet Kirn of Mission Viejo, Calif.; two nephews, Michael Kirn of Rock Island, Ill., and John Kirn of Santa Ana, Calif; and two great nieces and one great nephew. A brother preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held at the Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
