Iris Fern Blanchard, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Feb. 3, 1919, in Gideon, Mo., daughter of Joseph A. and Clara McBride Archer. She and William Blanchard were married in November 1933 in New Madrid County, Mo.
Iris has lived in Cape Girardeau since 1956. She was a member of Cape First Church.
Survivors include a son, Carl (Barbara) Blanchard of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lois (Edmund) Liden of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Earl Archer of Burfordville; a sister, Clara Agnes Coleman of Portageville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Eric Liden and Ellen Summers; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating.
Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
