Irene Niswonger, a former resident of Dexter and Parma who had lived in Cape Girardeau for the past 10 years, died Friday, May 22, 1998, at the home of her sister in Lilbourn. She was 74.
She was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Clay County, Ark., daughter of Edward and Malinda Smith Niswonger.
She was a member of the Church of God in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Grovenor of Jackson; two brothers, Ralph Niswonger of Wappapello and Curtis Niswonger of Michigan City, Ind.; a sister, Jewel Williams of Lilbourn; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma from 9 a.m. Tuesday until service time. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mounds Cemetery in Lilbourn, with the Rev. Mike Horn of Paducah, Ky., officiating.
