IRENE NIEDERKORN

NEW HAMBURG -- Funeral Mass for Irene Barbara Niederkorn of New Hamburg will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph Duffner will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from 4-8 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 7.

Niederkorn, 82, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Ill.

She was born June 24, 1915, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of William John and Rosa Bank Blank. She and Charles Edward Niederkorn were married Feb. 10, 1934, in Cape Girardeau. He died Feb. 4, 1979. She later married Jim Doocy Nov. 13, 1980, who died Aug. 2, 1988.

Niederkorn was a member of St. Lawrence Church and its Ladies Sodality, and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, Steven Niederkorn of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Rose Marie Fuechtman of Aurora, Shirley Niederkorn of Laguna Hill, Calif., Susan Griffin of Delta; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
