Irene McAnally, 82, of Millersville passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at her home. She was born Jan. 4, 1935, near Oak Ridge to Ora and Louise Suhr Bowers. She and Donald Ray McAnally were married Aug. 30, 2002. Irene attended school in Oak Ridge and received a cosmetology license in Wichita Falls, Texas. Irene McAnally, 82, of Millersville passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at her home.

She was born Jan. 4, 1935, near Oak Ridge to Ora and Louise Suhr Bowers. She and Donald Ray McAnally were married Aug. 30, 2002.

Irene attended school in Oak Ridge and received a cosmetology license in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked as a stylist at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Beauty Boutique in Jackson and later owned and operated her own shop in Jackson.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Millersville, and its "Whosoever Will May Come" Sunday-school class. She was a past worthy matron of Chapter 91 Order of Eastern Star in Jackson and previously served as district grand matron for the state of Missouri.

Irene was very personable and volunteered at Saint Francis Medical Center, often working in the lobby area. She enjoyed arts and crafts, making a quilt for each family member. She played the mandolin and enjoyed bluegrass music while camping with friends.

Loving survivors include her husband of 14 years, Donald of Millersville; three children, Roxann (Patrick) Finnagan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Donna (Scott) Whitsel of Millersville and Terry (Sherry) Gamble of Williston, Florida; four grandchildren, Jessica Stahlnaker, Damien Davis, Royce Gamble and Korie Gamble; and two great-granddaughters, Charlie Kay and Piper Grace.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Jerry Bowers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m., at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at First Baptist Church in Millersville.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Nathan Eikenberry officiating. Interment will be in Old Salem Cemetery near Millersville.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Old Salem Cemetery.
