CHAFFEE -- Irene Martha Halter, 82, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Heritage Gardens Nursing Center in Jackson. She was born May 28, 1914, at Randles, daughter of William and Katherine Uhrhan Gosche. She and John M. Halter were married Oct. 15, 1935. He died March 13, 1991...

CHAFFEE -- Irene Martha Halter, 82, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Heritage Gardens Nursing Center in Jackson.

She was born May 28, 1914, at Randles, daughter of William and Katherine Uhrhan Gosche. She and John M. Halter were married Oct. 15, 1935. He died March 13, 1991.

Halter was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose.

Survivors include two nieces, Pauline and Shirley Pennington of Gleason, Tenn.; two nephews, Glen Dumey of St. Charles, and Harry Pennington of Clarksburg, Tenn.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
