SIKESTON -- Ira O. Woods, 89, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at his home.
He was born March 12, 1909, in Marco, Mo., son of Lins Ross and Lucy May Yates Woods.
He married Louise O'Bryan Nov. 5, 1948, in Hernando, Miss.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was the owner and operator of the Park-A-Lot drive-in restaurant in Sikeston. He was the founding member of the Sikeston Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3319. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife; a brother, Gaylon Woods of Swansea, Ill.; and two sisters, Irene Cook of St. Louis and Hazel Young of Madisonville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Delbert Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
