EAST PRAIRIE -- Ira Thomas Thomure, 84, of East Prairie, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born May 3, 1910, in Flat River, son of William and Hassie Evans Thomure. He and Zora Hayden were married Jan. 12, 1931, in Charleston.
Thomure lived 18 years in Roseville, Calif., where he was a carman with Pacific Fruit Express Railroad Co. He moved to East Prairie 24 years ago, and was a member of Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clyde Thomure of Columbus, Mich., Thomas Thomure of Placerville, Calif.; three daughters, Dorothy Brisco of Sacramento, Calif., Lawanda Martin of Mentone, Calif., Betty Deroche of Carmichael, Calif.; a brother, Arno Thomure of East Prairie; five sisters, Irene Presson of St. Louis, Lena Presson of Marble Hill, Tina Hunt of East Prairie, Margie Burgess of Nashville, Tenn., Doris Rule of Florissant; 16 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Burl Britt officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
