JACKSON -- Farewell prayers for Ira F. Brice of Jackson will be held at 11 a.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m.
A parish mass will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church.
A private mass was held at the family home Monday.
Brice, 86, died Saturday, April 10, 1993, at Deal Nursing Home.
He was born May 26, 1906, in Cleveland, Ark., son of Thomas and Sarah Brent Brice. He and Angela Sciortino were married June 16, 1936.
Brice was manager of a Fair Store in Arkansas, and the former Kroger Store in Jackson. From 1946-62 he owned and operated Brice Variety Store in Jackson.
He was a member of Immaculate Church, American Legion, was a 3rd and 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, former member of Jackson Rotary Club, and past president of Jackson Chamber of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom Brice, Jackson Route 1, Joe Brice, Jackson Route 4, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
