JACKSON -- Iona Cavallo, 95, of Jackson died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 19, 1902, in Marble Hill, daughter of the Rev. William Addison and Margaret Emma Williford Davault. She and William "Bill" Davault were married Aug. 11, 1935. He died Sept. 10, 1975.
Cavallo graduated from high school in Mt. Vernon, Mo., attended Will Mayfield College at Marble Hill, received a diploma in piano from Christian College (now Columbia College) in 1923, and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia.
She taught private piano lessons in Mt. Vernon, Ill., and taught approximately 30 years in the Affton School District in St. Louis. Many years ago she was voted as one of the outstanding piano teachers in St. Louis.
Cavallo was a member of Third Baptist Church in St. Louis. She moved to Jackson in 1994 from St. Louis.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Thomas of Jonesboro, Ark., and a nephew, Hughes Davault, who helped care for her.
Friends may call at Kriegshauser Funeral Home in St. Louis from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dr. John Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lake Charles Memorial Park in St. Louis.
