CHARLESTON -- Inona Howard, 76, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 1995, at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston.
She was born April 20, 1919, in Midway, Ala., daughter of Leondas and Clara Nevels Lane. She married James A. Howard, who died in 1987.
Howard was a graduate of Lincoln High School here, and 1937 graduate of Lincoln University in Jefferson City. She owned and operated New York Style Shoppe in Chicago more than 33 years. She was a member of Christ Universal Temple in Chicago.
She formerly resided in Wyatt and Charleston.
Survivors include a sister, Hattie Kimble of Charleston, and a brother, Lommie Lane of Wilson City.
Friends may call from 6-7 p.m. Saturday at Sparks Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Perry Chapel AME Church, with the Rev. Debbie Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
