Inez E. Masterson, 77, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Emil and Hettie Fulbright Burgfeld. She and Lloyd Masterson were married Feb. 19, 1960, in Jackson.

Inez graduated from Jackson High School in 1952. She worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill a number of years.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She took great pride and joy raising her children and baby-sitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being with her family and being a part of her grandchildren's lives.

She was a lifelong member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, and its Bethany Circle. She was a member of Jackson American Legion Auxiliary and often volunteered with the group at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include her husband, Lloyd Masterson; a son, Scott (Pam) Masterson; two daughters, Linda (Rick) Kremer and Teresa (Mike) Hornbeak, all of Jackson; six grandchildren, Conrad and Emma Masterson, Jamie (Erik) Rosberg, Brandon and Tyler Kremer, and Skyler Hornbeak; three great-grandchildren, Collin, Abbey and Logan Rosberg; a sister, Blanche Mason of Jackson; and a brother, L.R. Burgfeld of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson.
