MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Funeral for Inez Hope Lingle of Murphysboro will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden. The Rev. Dennis Nance will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Makanda.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, and Monday until service time.

Lingle, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Makanda, daughter of Quincy and Inez Mae Tweedy Maddox. She and Albert Leon "Pistol" Lingle were married July 25, 1935, in Makanda.

Lingle was a cook at Mary Lou's Restaurant in Carbondale many years. She was a member of Makanda Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, James Lingle Sr. of Henderson, Ky.; three daughters, Inez Hillemeyer and Lou Lyons of Henderson, Betty Hillemeyer of Bancroft, Wis.; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
