SIKESTON -- Inez D. Hunt, 61, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Shuqualak, Miss., daughter of Harry and Lurean Hardin Jones. She and Jake Hunt were married March 14, 1954. He died Sept. 29, 1967...

SIKESTON -- Inez D. Hunt, 61, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center, following an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Shuqualak, Miss., daughter of Harry and Lurean Hardin Jones. She and Jake Hunt were married March 14, 1954. He died Sept. 29, 1967.

Hunt was a teacher's aide at the Child Development Center in Sikeston a number of years. She was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Oran, and served on the Usher Board.

Survivors include five sons, Jake Jones, Silas and Ignatius "Mike" Hunt of Sikeston, Isadore "Gale" Hunt of Champaign, Ill., Reginald Hunt of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Rita Savage of Sikeston, Evelyn Hunt of LaVergne, Tenn.; a stepson, Elgin "Jack" Hunt of Lincoln, Neb.; four stepdaughters, Sereda Lindsay of Champaign, Melody Goodall and Yvonne Reeves of Chicago, Ethel Hunt of Denver, Colo.

Four brothers, Kennie and Sammie Jones of Sikeston, Harry Jones Jr. of LaVergne, Willie Jones of Cape Girardeau; nine sisters, Mattie Fort, Susie Haney and Mary Glover of St. Louis, Mary Stevens, Estella Sharp and Louise Wiley of Haywood City, Estus Jeffrey of Paducah, Ky., Alberta Davis of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and Rosie Lewis of Nashville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Elder Clinton Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Haywood City Cemetery at Haywood City.
