Ines Nickell

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ines Nickell, 77, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 23, 1926, at Bernie, Mo., daughter of Robert and Mary King. She and Merlin Nickell were married July 3, 1948. He died Dec. 8, 2000.

Nickell had worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston, was a cook at Country Kitchen at Barkett's, and worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Steve Nickell of Lexington, Mo.; a daughter, Sandra Younger of Sikeston; a sister, Dorothy McConnell of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a half-brother.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.
