Imogene Ebersohl, 83, of Murphysboro, Ill., and Jackson passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
Imogene was born April 2, 1930, in Gorham, Ill., to Herman B. Casey and Lora Abernathy Casey.
Imogene worked many years at Brown Shoes, Intuition Sewing Factory as a private housekeeper and as a custodian at the Jackson County Courthouse.
Mrs. Ebersohl was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Murphysboro and a member of the Murphysboro Senior Citizens.
Imogene married Delbert Ebersohl on Sept. 2, 1949, in Gorham, and he preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2007.
She is survived by two children, Jack Ebersohl of Murphysboro and Sharon Ebersohl of Jackson; one granddaughter, Katherine Ebersohl of Jackson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Joannie Casey of Palmetto, Fla., and Virgil and Mickey Casey of Dupo, Ill.; one brother-in-law, Everett Ebersohl, and one sister-in-law, Beulah Ebersohl; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Ebersohl; three brothers; three sisters; several nieces and nephews; her parents; and her friend, Clarence Vivian Hoffman.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro.
Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Gilbert officiating. Burial will be Goodbread Cemetery.
