HULETT V. YATES

SIKESTON -- Hulett V. Yates, 82, of Sikeston, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 1, 1909, at Kuttawa, Ky., son of Oscar Turner and Maggie Smith Yates. He and LaVerne Vinson were married May 25, 1940, at Sikeston.

Yates was manager and superintendent at Scott County Milling Co. 38 years, and member of First Baptist Church here.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David Yates of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Karen Lackie of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two brothers, Oscar Yates of Princeton, Ky., Cecil Yates of East Moline, Ill.; three sisters, Lucille Krone of Sikeston, Theresa Hart of Minneapolis, Minn., Margaret Groenwoldt of Princeton; two grandsons and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jim Guffie will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
