ALTENBURG -- Funeral service for Hugo E. Richter of Altenburg will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. The Rev. Walter Patzwitz will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson until noon today.
Richter, 92 years old, died Friday, Feb. 22, 1991, at Deal Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1898, at Wittenberg, son of Martin and Ida Grebing Richter. He and the former Bertha Weber were married June 12, 1921. She died Oct. 8, 1937.
Richter farmed all his life, and was a member of Immanuel Church.
Survivors include two sons, Edward and Raymond Richter of New Wells; three daughters, Nelda Mirly of New Wells, Norma Haertling of Jackson Route 4, Viola Boehme of Frohna Route 1; three brothers, Walter Richter of Oviedo, Fla., Gilbert Richter of Cape Girardeau, Otto Richter of St. Louis; two sisters, Emma Weber of Perryville, Renata Werner of St. James; 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, son, grandson, two brothers and a sister.
