Hugo A. Borchelt, 87, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1993, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Dec. 16, 1906, at Egypt Mills, son of Julius and Clara Hente Borchelt. He and Iva Johnson were married Dec. 14, 1935, at Egypt Mills. She died Oct. 5, 1992.
Borchelt was a residential builder in Cape Girardeau, Egypt Mills and Southern Illinois areas, retiring in 1971. He was a lifelong member of Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church, had served as an elder, trustee, cemetery sexton, and had been a member of the former Men's Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Williamson of Cape Girardeau, Judith Kendall of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Eldor Borchelt of Cape Girardeau, Oscar Borchelt of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church in Egypt Mills. The Rev. Mark Martin will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
