PERRYVILLE -- Hugh Thomas Rozier Sr., 79, of Perryville, died Friday, Aug. 16, 1991, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born July 25, 1912, in Perry County, son of Pratt and Clara Seitz Rozier. He and Ethel Walker were married Nov. 7, 1940. PERRYVILLE -- Hugh Thomas Rozier Sr., 79, of Perryville, died Friday, Aug. 16, 1991, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 25, 1912, in Perry County, son of Pratt and Clara Seitz Rozier. He and Ethel Walker were married Nov. 7, 1940.

Rozier had been manager of the men's department at Rozier's Mercantile here, where he had worked 55 years. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, KC Council 1263, VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133, and AmVets Post 94, all in Perryville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Hugh Rozier Jr. of Willis, Texas; a daughter, Judith Buchheit of Imperial; two brothers, Paul and Leo Rozier of Perryville; a sister, Marie Gurley of Port Charlotte, Fla., and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a grandchild.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Henry Grodecki will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Monday.
