Funeral service for Hugh Thomas Mize of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Alan Berry will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Sunday.

Mize, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 1994, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

He was born May 27, 1907, in Indiana, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Mize. He and Ola Hodge were married May 14, 1942, in Cape Girardeau. She died Feb. 18, 1992.

Mize was an ironworker more than 40 years with Inland Steel Co. in Gary, Ind. He moved to Cape Girardeau after retiring. He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and its Elfrink Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a son, Jerome Mize of Nashville, Ind.; three grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters and a sister.
