JACKSON -- Hugh Jenkins, 66, of Jackson died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, in the Emergency Room at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Formosa, Ark., son of the Rev. Claud and Mary T. Buchannon Jenkins.
Jenkins was a trainer for Tennessee Walking horses in Tennessee and Arkansas, and for the former George Kimbel Horse Barn in Jackson for eight years.
He moved to Jackson in 1961 from Arkansas. He was a custodian at Jackson R-2 Schools, received an accredited nurse aide certification, and for the past several years was a conductor and brakeman with St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway in Jackson.
Survivors include a sister, Lodean Dugal of Farmington.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will be in Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Farmington, with graveside rites conducted by Dr. William Miller.
