CHARLESTON -- Hugh Jefferson Aldrich, 70, of Charleston, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1993, at his residence.
He was born April 24, 1923, in Bollinger County, son of Daniel and Ada Mae White Aldrich.
He married Katie Hall in November 1977.
Aldrich was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
He was a retired maintenance worker for the U.S. Post Office in Sikeston and Charleston.
Aldrich lived in Charleston for the past 15 years, where he was a member of the VFW Post 4291. He was also a member of the American Legion is Sikeston.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeff Aldrich of Sikeston; two step-sons, Johnny Lutz of Potosi, Mo., George Smith of Laguna Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Patty Brown of Malden, Mo.; two step-daughters, Kathleen Stevens and Belinda Crowley, both of Charleston; a brother, Earl Aldrich of Jackson, Tenn.; three sisters, Audrey Beck of Sikeston, Charlotte Gooch of Panama City, Fla., Lois Pastula of Struthers, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Shelby Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Shelby Funeral Home, with Bro. Ralph Buckley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
