PORTAGEVILLE -- Funeral for Hugh Wallace Crafton of Portageville was held Friday at First Baptist Church. Dr. Buck Morton officiated. Burial was in Portageville Cemetery.
DeLisle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Crafton, 88, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 30, 1910, in Humphres County, son of Edmond and Mary Alice Nichols Crafton. He and Pauline Adams were married Oct. 10, 1931, at Caruthersville.
Crafton was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Edmond and Roger Crafton of Portageville, Dwane Crafton of Marshall, Terrell Crafton of Hayti; four daughters, Rowena Benson of Cape Girardeau, Wilma Baker and Sharon Patterson of Portageville, Dwanda Myers of Champaign, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers, a sister, a granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter.
