KARNAK, Ill. -- Funeral for Hubert D. Wood of Karnak will be held at 2 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The Rev. Kenneth Capps will officiate, with burial in Anderson Cemetery at Boaz.
Wood, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Belknap, son of William and Flora Thorn Wood. He married the former Freda Altenberger.
Wood was a retired timber cutter, and had been employed by Main Brothers Box and Lumber Co.
He was a member of Belknap Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sue Crippen of Cypress, Anita Manley and Linda Staton of Metropolis; two sons, Arnold and Heslip Wood of Karnak.
Also surviving are two sisters, Margaret Ragesdale of Florida, Sharon Sullivan of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Paul Wood of Galesburg, Jim Wood of Plano, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, a sister, and two brothers.
