HUBERT J. BARKS

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Hubert James Barks of Union was held March 16 at Oltmann Funeral Home there. Ellery Griffith officiated, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery at Gerald.

Barks, 63 years old, died Thursday, March 14, 1991, at Jefferson Barracks Hospital in St. Louis County.

He was born Oct. 24, 1927, at Brownwood, son of Henry and Lula Hawkins Barks. He married the former Glenda Chilcutt. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Hubert Barks; four daughters, Jama, Karen, Sandy and Bonnie; two sisters, Helois Stacy of Leslie, Bonnie Umfleet of Cape, and a brother, James Barks of Rolla.
