CYPRESS, Ill. -- Hubert Hobson, 91, of Cypress died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Hillview Care Center in Vienna.

He was born Jan. 9, 1909, in Alba, Mo., son of George and Elizabeth Grankey Hobson.

He was first married to Opal Walk Watson. She preceded him in death. He then married Martha Henry.

Hobson worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, the Disabled Veterans of America, The Springfield American Legion Post 32 and VFW Post 755. He also was a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield, Ill.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of Cypress; two stepsons, Amon Bloodworth of Hertford, N.C., and Dale Bloodworth Sr. of Jacksonville, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Rita Ragan of Springfield, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a wife, two stepsons and his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Living Hope Fellowship Church in Karnak.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Kevin Badgley officiating.

Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Cypress.

Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of arrangements.
