Hubert George Fisher, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 14, 1919, at Glennon, son of George and Mary Blanche Horrell Fisher.
He married Albertine Martin on June 11, 1943, at Glennon. She survives.
Fisher was a longtime maintenance employee of St. Francis Medical Center, working at the old St. Francis Hospital at Good Hope and Pacific and at the new St. Francis Medical Center.
He served as an Army medic in the European Theater during World War II.
He is survived by his wife; sons Timothy R. Fisher and Robert H. Fisher, both of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Mary Jo Ray of Hamilton, Ill., and Patti Caid of Kelso; three brothers, Leonard Fisher of Cape Girardeau, Elmer Fisher of Gordonville and Charlie Fisher of Overland; sisters, Alma Nenninger of Glennon and Mabel Byland of Norfolk, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Church Cemetery at Glennon.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with parish prayers at 7.
