FARRAR -- Hubert E. Lorenz, 74, of Farrar, died Monday, May 4, 1992, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 23, 1918, in Perry County, son of Theodore and Clara Kassel Lorenz. He and Meta Versemann were married May 4, 1941. She died Aug. 31, 1976.

Lorenz retired as postmaster at Farrar. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church here, American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4232, AmVets Post 94, Retired Postmasters Association, and Perry County Wildlife Chapter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, James Lorenz of Fenton, Ralph Lorenz of Jackson; a daughter, Carolyn Kuhlman of Rockwall, Texas; a brother, Arnold Lorenz of Frohna; three sisters, Alice Wichern of Ste. Genevieve, Lucille Fritsche of St. Louis, Gladys Engert of Altenburg; four grandchildren, and a stepgrandchild.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Salem Church. The Rev. Bertram Schirmer will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville after 3 p.m. today. An American Legion wake service will be held at 7, and VFW wake service at 7:15.
