PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hubert G. "Butch" Blaylock, 88, of Perryville died Sept. 16, 2011, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1923, in Perry County, Mo, son of Vester and Elsa Knoll Blaylock. He married the love of his life Ruby M. Barks on June 2, 1946. She survives in Perryville.

Mr. Blaylock retired after 20 years as U.S. mail letter carrier and had worked at Blaylock Meat Market and Hutson's Fine Furniture. He attended and graduated from Perryville High School in 1942. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, National Association of Letter Carriers and a U.S. Army corporal serving in the South Pacific during World War II.

Other survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Clifton of Port Orange, Fla., Mildred (Albert) Cearlock of Perryville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kerry Don Blaylock; and a sister, Wilma Mueller.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or School in Perryville.
