Hubert Allen

Hubert E. Allen, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, March 15, 2004, at his home.

He was born Aug. 14, 1923, at Devil's Island, Ill., son of Luther and Edna Tucker Allen. He and Emra Snider were married Jan. 16, 1943, in Cape Girardeau. She died Oct. 2, 1988.

Allen had worked at A.E. Birk, Noranda Aluminum and Penzel Construction Co. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church and a former member of VFW Post 3838.

He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 19, 1943, to Dec. 19, 1945.

Survivors include a son, Buddy Allen of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Livesay of Ballwin, Mo.; two brothers, Earl Allen of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Allen of state of California; two sisters, Eunice Allen and Lawanda Bartels of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with John Howells officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3838 and Missouri Honor Guard.
