Sutterer, 76, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at the Veterans Home.

He was born May 18, 1923, in Perryville, son of Edwin and Thersa Layton Sutterer. He and Jeanette Sutterer were married Aug. 27, 1942.
Sutterer retired as an inspector at General Motors. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 4282, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, and a life member of American Legion Post 133.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
