HOWARD R. FRANKLIN

PERRYVILLE -- Howard R. Franklin, 85, Perryville, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1993 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 21, 1907 in Perry County, the son of Charles Jack Franklin and Elizabeth Cissell.

On Nov. 3, 1927 in Perryville, he married the former Hilda M. Cissell. She preceded him in death June 5, 1992.

He worked as a carpenter and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.

He is survived by two sons, Howard D. Franklin, Florissant, Clyde Joseph Franklin, St. Joseph; two daughters, Virginia Smith, St. Marys, Helen Comte, Perryville; two brothers, Ira Franklin, St. Marys and Carl Franklin, Perryville; one sister, Mammie Brewer, of Brewer; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Two brothers, two sisters, and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.

Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. J. Edward Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call today from 4-9 p.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m.
