Funeral for H. Howard Knapp of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Mark Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Knapp, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1911, in Cape Girardeau, son of William Cecil and Sarah Elizabeth Lively Knapp. He and Ersie Mungle were married Feb. 22, 1936, at Jackson, Mo.
A lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau, Knapp was a welder at Pollock Steel Co. 45 years.
Knapp was a member of First Church of God, taught Sunday School, and served in other church capacities.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Knapp of Whitewater, Mo.; two daughters, Elaine Shirrell of Cape Girardeau, Pamela Mahoney of McClure, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, three brothers, and two sisters.
