PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Howard W. "Butch" Hagan, 89, of Perryville died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City, Mo.
He was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Claryville, Mo., son of Robert and Cora Roman Hagan. He first married June H. Derue. He and Verna Schamburg were married July 19, 1969. She died Sept. 7, 2005.
Hagan was a self-employed bricklayer. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received the Purple Heart.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Hagan of Altenburg, Mo., Robert Hagan of Perryville; a sister, Hallie Pingel of Farmington, Mo.; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 a.m. to service time Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A VFW wake will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Christopher Cole officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by VFW Post 4282.
