DELTA -- Funeral service for Howard Ransome Followell Jr. of Kalamazoo, Mich., was held Monday at Langeland Memorial Chapel in Kalamazoo. The Rev. Herb Hutchinson officiated, with burial in Mt. Ever Rest Cemetery.
Followell, 67, died Friday, June 5, 1992, in a Kalamazoo hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1924, at Delta, son of Howard and Mabel Riehn Followell. He first married Edna Blumenberg, and later married Sally Silman.
Followell moved to Kalamazoo in 1987. He was a welder until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of National Rifle Association, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Harold Followell of Kalamazoo; three daughters, Marilyn Hernandez and Rhonda Anderson of Kalamazoo, Deanna Young of Granite City, Ill.; a stepson, Robbie Silman of Granite City; four brothers, Bill and Marvin Followell of Kalamazoo, Jack Followell of Fairview, Ark., Jerry Followell of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, JoAnn Kesterson and Betty Goode of Cape Girardeau, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
