SIKESTON -- Howard F. Woodall, 70, of Mendenhall, Miss., formerly of Sikeston, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1993 at the Magee Hospital in Magee, Miss.
He was born Feb. 10, 1923 in Holcomb, Mo, son of Lemuel and Nellie Moyer Woodall.
He attended school in Holcomb and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Agriculture. He worked from 1967 until his retirement in 1987 as the assistant director for the Farmers Home Administration with the United States Department of Agriculture.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was a former member and deacon of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston and was presently a member of the Mendenhall Church of Christ.
He first married Billy J. Watson on May 2, 1946 in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death Aug. 5, 1986. He married Martha Hooper Dec. 29, 1992 in Clay County, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Michael Howard Woodall, Kewanne, Mo.; one daughter Beverly Sue Taylor, Jackson; one stepson, Robert Hooper, Brandon, Mill.; one stepdaughter, Patricia Kennedy, Magee, Miss; two brothers, Chester Woodall, Bernie, Melvin Woodall, Clarkton, Mo.; three sisters, Mary Patterson, Holcomb, Bonnie Walpole, Kennett; Marguerite Essary, Malden; six grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pat Hogan, minister of the Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
