HOWARD D. REECE

JACKSON -- Howard D. Reece, 72, of Jackson, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1993, at his home.

He was born Sept. 14, 1920, at Bernie, son of Victor and Effie Harvey Reece. He and Velma M. Jauch were married May 18, 1941, in Jackson.

Reece was a timber worker 56 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Lutesville General Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Howard Jr. and Bill Reece of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Betty McLain of Cape Girardeau, Evelyn Eakers of Memphis, Tenn.; six brothers, Junior, Ronnie, Paul, Robert, James and Rodger Reece, all of the Bernie and Malden area; four sisters, Carolyn Reece, Betty Meadows, Joyce Garrett and Linda Blevins, all of the Bernie and Malden area; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Cliffton Trentham will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
