ZALMA -- Funeral service for Howard D. Goolsby of Zalma will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Ed Deckard will officiate, with burial in Berrong Cemetery at Gipsy.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. today.
Goolsby, 71, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 6, 1922, in Illinois, son of Thomas and Nettie Hogg Goolsby. He and Veda Deckard were married March 13, 1944, at Marble Hill.
He was a self-employed mechanic many years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leo Goolsby of Advance, Thomas Goolsby of Zalma; a daughter, Kimberly Black of Scott City; a sister, Elsie Cooper of Bernie, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
