Howard G. Brown, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 25, 1930, in Mississippi County, Mo., son of John W. and Ida Forsythe Brown.
Howard and Helen Lober were married Jan. 2, 1954, in Charleston, Mo. She died July 22, 2006.
He retired from Carnation Co. after 21 years and drove a shuttle at Southeast Missouri Hospital 25 years. He was a member of Maple United Methodist Church and enjoyed being around people.
Howard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include a brother, Billy G. Brown of Charleston; a sister, Mildred Brokaw of Granite City, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Maple United Methodist Church.
