Houston L. Clark, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Jan. 25, 2000, in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 24, 1927, at Van Buren, the son of William and Emma Myers Clark.

He had lived in Cape Girardeau for the past 30 years. He was a self-employed truck driver and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by a son, Gary Clark of Smyrna, Tenn.; a special friend, Nelda Armstrong of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Tom Clark of Hillendale, Calif., and Stanley Clark, Ira "Jack" Clark and David Clark, all of Van Buren; four sisters, Ann Keeney and Ester Bowman, both of Van Buren, Lucille Green of Springfield and Virginia Martin of St. Louis; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral was Saturday at the McSpadden Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, with the Rev. Ross Marhsall officiating. Burial was at Houses Creek Cemetery.
