Horton W. Miller, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Frank and Kathleen Whittaker Miller. He and Carol Jarvis were married June 22, 1963, in St. Louis.

Horton worked for Dow/Elanco for 30 years.

He coached Little League baseball and enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon and elder and served on several committees.

Horton was a dedicated husband for 57 years and a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Miller of Cape Girardeau; sons, Horton "Skip" (Kristin) Miller Jr. of Collierville, Tennessee, and Randy (Laura) Miller of Minneapolis; sisters, Mary Hill of Woodstock, Illinois, and Matilda (John) Farquhar of Round Rock, Texas; and grandchildren, Kara Miller, Courtney Miller, Drew Miller and Katie Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank Miller.

A private graveside service will be held at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers or plants, if you feel compelled, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
