SCOTT CITY -- Homer Millard Stamp Sr., 77, of Scott City died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 30, 1920, in Gorham, Ill., son of Elmer and Lena Welch Stamp. He and Theda Frances Lambert were married June 29, 1940, in Cape Girardeau.
Stamp had worked at Marquette Cement Co. in Cape Girardeau, and was a member and deacon at First Assembly of God Church in Scott City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Homer Stamp Jr. of Scott City, Mark Stamp of Little Rock, Ark., David Stamp of Kelso, Lynn Stamp of Fruitland; three daughters, Charlotte Williamson of Fruitland, June Drum of Millersville, Ruth Moore of Jefferson City; a brother, Bill Stamp of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Frances Russell of Titusville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 4 p.m. today, and at First Assembly of God Church after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
