CAIRO - Homer P. Reeves, 74, of Herrin, died Saturday Oct. 9, 1993 at his home. He was born Nov. 11, 1918 in Bardwell, Ky., the son of Charlie and Esther Potter Reeves.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell M. Reeves of Herrin; one son, James Reeves of Irving, Tex.; one step-daughter, Carol Gros of Donaldsville, La.; one step-son, Vincent Lowe of Mound City; three sisters, Thelma Huey of LaCenter, Ky., Beula McClure of St. Louis, and Dorothy Houchins of Blandville, Ky.; one brother, Charlie Reeves of Cairo; two grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Visitation will be at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Ronald Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Mound City National Cemetery.
