MARBLE HILL -- Funeral service for Homer J. Collins of Marble Hill will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hahn chapel General Baptist Church. The Revs. Gerald Huff, Norman Elledge and Edward Collins will officiate, with burial in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at Baker Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today, and until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Collins, 77, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1993, at Bond Nursing Care Center.

He was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Bollinger County, son of John and Ethel Shell Collins. He and Reva Eaker were married Sept. 23, 1939.

Collins owned and operated a salvage business in Lutesville many years, and was city alderman of Marble Hill from 1982-86.

He was a member and trustee of Hahn Chapel Church, trustee of Club Creek Cemetery near here, member of VFW 5900, and life member of Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, James Collins of Baldwin; three sisters, Mildred Newell of Kimberling City, Ulene Baker of Marble Hill, and Bernice Loyd of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.
