DELTA -- Homer F. Masters, 84, a longtime businessman at Delta, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 4, 1907, at Jackson, son of Jacob F. and Lou Short Masters. He and Carrie Smith were married June 1, 1935, at Delta. She died Jan. 25, 1991.
The Masters owned and operated Masters Produce and Service Station many years, retiring in 1982. He had also been mayor and chief of police in Delta, and served as a Democratic committeeman.
He was a member and past treasurer of First Baptist Church, and member of the former Delta Rotary Club. He was an active horseman until retiring.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Stapleton of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Trichele and Chantaye Stapleton of Austin.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Chapel in Delta. The Rev. Glen Golden will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
